Saw an interesting commentary from Colion Noir on the Baldwin thing


It got a bit political at times, so I won't link it (but it's easy enough to find on YouTube if you want).

The part I found interesting was his take that given the Right to Bear Arms is in the Constitution, why aren't the absolute basics of gun safety taught to everyone? We learn about our right to vote, free speech, assembly, our criminal rights, civil rights, the (theoretically) limited powers of each branch of government...effort is spent trying to teach our citizenry about their rights in school. Yet we conspicuously gloss over firearms.

I know firearms are a politically charged issue, but one area where everyone should be able to agree is firearm safety. Accidental killings like that one are absolutely preventable, and that should be a non-partisan issue.

If you can name the three branches of the federal government, then you should also be able to name the four rules of gun safety, regardless of whether you ever have any intent of owning or using a firearm in your life. Heck, if you just know one of the four rules, you would probably be fine.
